The Sinking
Director: Imogen Radwan
Filmed: June 2023
Released: 29/11/2023
Role: The Man
“The most experimental piece I’ve been a part of so far. It was so interesting to explore how to perform with such an unconventional script, character, and dynamic. All our dialogue was ADR as well, which was great practise for how to loop lines.”
Your Cologne
Director: Henry Fox
Filmed: July 2023
Released: 25/08/2023
Role: Matt
“I worked very closely with Henry Fox in the development of this piece. It was so interesting to play a character who isn’t necessarily likeable, but still needs to be an engaging person to watch. We had an incredible cast and crew, who created such a comfortable environment to work in.”
Embers
Director: Henry Fox
Filmed: February 2023
Released: 18/05/2023
Role: Michael
“A very touching short film about loss, with a wonderful lead performance, and tactful direction. It was a role where less was more, and I wanted to be a small thread in the wider tapestry. Henry Fox allowed for a lot of improvisation, which allowed for the performance to feel nice and natural.”
Snoopy
Director: Henry Fox
Filmed: March 2023
Released: 24/04/2023
Role: Snoopy
“Seeing a short I had wholly written come to life was an incredible experience. The characters and dialogue for Snoopy and his world were so clear in my head, and seeing all of that be imagined and reimagined by the cast and crew was so much fun. It felt like a smaller piece of a larger world, and I hope I get to revist Snoopy and his world one day.”
Three Days
Director: Olli Slatter
Filmed: August 2020
Released: 24/07/2021
Role: Lewis Wilson
“Surprisingly the first non-period Olli Slatter film I’ve been in. Lewis was such a different character from anyone I played before, and exploring how to craft a character for a different genre was interesting. Basically road tripping through Wales but with a camera. I loved having the chance to push myself out of my comfort zone and range, and bouncing off Isabella Colby Browne (who played Holly) was such a fun time.”
The Space Boy
Director: Cai Tinsley
Filmed: October 2020
Released: 25/06/2021
Role: Sonny
“Working with my fellow Drama School peer Fred Trenholme (who plays the character of Scott), we were able to apply and test out all the different acting techniques we had been gathering. It was a great time of experimenting and creation. With Sonny, I found myself crafting an intricate backstory to help decipher the paradox that he is in the script. Playing a younger character, I was able to explore how I now view my own teenage years which was really interesting.”
The Least
Director: Olli Slatter
Filmed: Feb-March 2020
Released: 05/09/2020
Role: James Bailey
“With The Least, I also co-wrote the film. Having a had in crafting the journey my character went on was an incredible experience. Not only was I able to explore the character James from the outset through each draft of the script, but I was able to find ways to push myself both emotionally and physically. Spending days in Glastonbury filming the home scenes were beautiful and spontaneous, whilst the battle sequences became elaborate dances of hitting cues and running through planned chaos. I love how the final film came together, and am so grateful for how much I was able to contribute to it and learn from it.”
after
Director: Henry Fox
Filmed: July 2019
Released: 01/08/2019
Role: Finn
“after. was an extremely personal film for both me and Henry. With no crew, and a very loose script, we let improvisation, discussions on the day, and any emotional whims lead what we shot. I took the vulnerability I had found with William, and pushed it even further. It was an amazing learning experience for me.”
Repentance
Director: Henry Fox
Filmed: April 2019
Released: 09/06/2019
Role: William
“William was the closest I had ever felt to a character up to that point. Working with Henry Fox, we really crafted this young man and his insecurities and struggles. It was such a delicately made film, and I felt real freedom to let some of my own vulnerabilities start to show when playing William.”
Liability
Director: Olli Slatter
Filmed: February 2019
Released: 28/03/2019
Role: Gabe Wilson
“Olli became so well-versed in the British heist when writing Liability, he became an incredible source of information and inspiration when building and getting into the mind of Gabe. I also had found myself giving Gabe a few small personal quirks too. Playing against type was very fun, and I loved supporting Cam and Andrew Slatter in their leading roles.”
The Dug-Out
Director: Olli Slatter
Filmed: February 2018
Released: 25/02/2018
Role: Chris
“My first time collaborating with Olli Slatter was an absolute joy. Spending a day finding ways to create the sense of a full battlefield with three actors was exciting and fun, and was the start of an ongoing creative partnership.”
