I love stories!
This has been the thread that has tugged my heart as a writer, actor, filmmaker, and performer from a young age.
As a child, I watched my parents conceive and perform their pieces and conference productions, gathering collaborative teams to share hard-hitting and powerful themes to international audiences.
This early exposure to performing, and to the power of artistically communicating a message, led me later to enroll in Film and Media at The BRIT School, where I studied the art of filmmaking for 2 years. Collaborating with Theatre students, costume, and sound, I had the opportunity to see stories come to life from both all sides of the lens.
After successfully completing my BTEC in Film & Media, I stepped from behind the camera and completed my Brit years as a Theatre student earning a UAL in Theatre studies.
This then led me to study at the Drama School Rose Bruford College, taking the BA Acting course.
I love the electric energy that fills the atmosphere of live performance. The vulnerability that you have as an actor on stage is unrivalled, and a challenge I enjoy exploring again and again.
Seeing a story grow from seed to full fruit; writing, planning, production, acting, and editing is exhilarating.
I have experience in all departments and continue creating short films, theatre pieces, and collaborative productions. I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to explore different genres and characters, and continue to stretch my boundaries to experience more.
And how could any celebration of story be complete without mentioning the master storyteller himself? Shakespeare.
I find his works endlessly fascinating and entertaining, both on stage and screen, and dream of one day combining my love of screen and Shakespeare to create cinematic adaptations of his works.
For pure love of the bard, I have produced short Shakespearean films, as well as new writing content through my theatre company, dEFAULT THEATRE, which allows me to stretch and explore fresh aspects of storytelling.
